A restaurant’s policy is drawing a lot of hate and praise from its customers and online.
Old Fisherman’s Grotto, in California, has had their no “crying children” or kids making “loud noises” policy since 2011.
It’s on their website and there’s even a sign in the restaurant but it’s just now getting a lot of attention after it was posted on Yelp.
Their policy states: “No strollers. No high chairs. No booster chairs. Children crying or making loud noises are a distraction to other diners, and as such are not allowed in the dining room.”
One person online said, “I’m a mother of two little ones and know exactly how disruptive they can be in restaurants. I totally support this policy.”
While another comment called it an “anti-inconsiderate-parents policy,” “its not an anti-children policy. Its anti-inconsiderate-parents policy, and pro customer. Nobody paying good money for a nice sit down meal wants a kid screaming his/her head off at the table next to them.”
With all this being said, the restaurant has no problem welcoming families with children, they only ask “that they abide by our rules.”
