Eight year old Isabelle Paquette entered her third cupcake campaign hoping to raise $3,000 but after all was baked and delivered her total came in at $4,002.24. That money will be turned over to the Children’s Treatment Centre’s Bike-A-Thon Plus this Saturday.
It was great to see the large orders and the small ones come from everywhere in the community for the year three effort. Isabelle was even a guest chef at St.Joe’s Secondary one day where they pitched in and helped bake 500 cupcakes and iced 200.
So…how many cupcakes does one have to bake and ice to raise over $4,000? The answer is 1,965!!!
Over the past three years Isabelle has raised $7,323.24! Year one raised a thousand dollars and year two netted a $2,321 total with the rest, over four thousand this year.
A huge high five for Isabelle and her family for all their effort, baking, icing, delivering and collecting for such a great cause over the past few weeks. It’s parents like Fern and Kim Paquette that help ensure the next generation of Cornwallites will be as generous as the current one.
Thanks to all who helped along the way either baking, spreading the word, and those who placed orders. The community came together for a good cause led by 8 year old Chef Isabelle.
