New christening photo of Prince Louis released

Kate Middleton and Prince William, with their three kids in tow, arrive for the christening of the 11-week-old Prince Louis.

On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a new photograph of their son, Prince Louis, from his christening earlier this month.

The new photo of the three-month-old prince comes a day after Kensington Palace released four family photos from the christening.

“Their Royal Highnesses hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do,” the palace said in a statement.

Kensington Palace released family photos of Prince Louis in the arms of his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, to mark the baby boy’s christening.

The bonus photograph was taken by Matt Porteous on the day of the prince’s July 9 christening in the garden of Clarence House — which is the home of Louis’ grandfather, Prince Charles.

The other four official photos were taken at Clarence House in London by Matt Holyoak after Louis was baptized in the chapel at St. James’s Palace.

The 11-week-old prince, who was born Louis Arthur Charles on April 23, was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge is fifth in line to the throne, and the sixth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, didn’t attend the christening, but it was a decision made “some time ago” and wasn’t due to health reasons.

In 2013, Prince Louis’ older brother, Prince George, was also christened by Welby at the Chapel Royal.

In 2015, his sister Princess Charlotte was christened at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, a royal estate near England’s eastern coast. She, too, was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
