Selena Gomez has taken a huge step and is making herself and her mental health a priority.
This has all stemmed from the singer being hospitalised twice recently due to her kidney transplant. There has been some complications with low white blood cells which led her to have a massive panic attack. A source close to Selena told PEOPLE that she is looking to better her mental health.
She realised she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.
This is the second time this year Selena has entered herself in a mental health facility for anxiety and depression. According to the source, Selena will be undergoing dialectical behaviour therapy. This therapy will focus on changing negative thinking and behavioural patterns.
Last month, she posted on her Instagram that she’ll be taking a break from social media to focus on herself.

With it being “Mental Health Day” yesterday, I think this is very important. It’s okay to want to better yourself and your mental health and seek the help you need. You shouldn’t be ashamed for making the time for you because your mental health is essential.
