So far, there have been a lot of “special weather statements” and stuff this winter. And there’s another one today. A freezing drizzle advisory for Cornwall and SD&G.
Environment Canada put it out. The official explanation from their website goes like this:
“Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.”
But what this means for you is that we’re in for freezing drizzle throughout the day. It’s expected to change to rain late this evening, but there will be the risk of freezing rain.
If you’re wondering, buses are still running today across the region.
On the flip side though, we’re expecting some generally pleasant weather this weekend! The temperature’s supposed to go up to plus 4 by tomorrow morning, before dropping back down to minus 3 in the afternoon. And according to the forecast so far, we’re supposed to get sunny skies all weekend into Monday!
