From the looks of it, just over a third of Canadians would be in favour of getting rid of the nickel! But more than half of Canadians (55%) would not!
That’s according to a survey from Vancouver’s Research Co., who also points out age makes a difference:
- 41% of Canadians between 18 and 34 would be cool with getting rid of the nickel.
- 39% of those 35 to 54 would be alright with it.
- Only 29% of Canadians over 55 think it’s a fine idea.
The study also looked at how many Canadians think it was a good idea to get rid of the penny, with 3 quarters saying they think it was the right thing to do.
