NEW LEADERSHIP AT DEV HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTRE: IAN BENTLEY JOINS AS GENERAL MANAGER

CORNWALL, February 5, 2025 –DEV Hotel & Conference Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Bentley as its new General Manager. With over 25 years of diverse hospitality experience, Ian brings a wealth of expertise, creativity, and a passion for excellence to this role.

A graduate of Loyalist College with a diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Ian’s career has been shaped by international experiences across Western Canada, Great Britain, Spain, Australia, and the United States. His time abroad provided valuable insight into global hospitality trends and operational best practices.

Throughout his career, Ian has held leadership positions with some of the industry’s most respected brands, including Delta Chelsea Toronto, Fairmont San Jose, Park Hyatt Toronto, Renaissance Toronto-Rogers Centre, and Delta Prince Edward Island.

In Cornwall, Ian made a significant impact as part of the leadership team at the NAV Centre, where he revitalized the property’s food and beverage operations, launched innovative dining concepts such as The Stone House Steakhouse and the revamped Jet Set Pub. His ability to create premium guest experiences extended to large-scale events, including The Wonderful World of Whisky Show, which earned multiple Excellence in Tourism Awards and gained international recognition.

As an entrepreneur, Ian founded Bentley Hospitality, bringing innovative hospitality concepts to life. His ventures included The Craft Shack, a mobile beer trailer that earned him Entrepreneur of the Year from the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, and Rock the River, a successful festival series. Most recently, as Director of Hospitality for Weaving Baskets Group, he played a key role in developing four distinct hospitality brands, including restaurants, a butchery, and a pub.

With expertise in food and beverage innovation, event management, branding, and business development, Ian is dedicated to positioning DEV Hotel & Conference Centre as a premier destination for conferences, events, and hospitality excellence.
